Eat Pray Love

I watched the movie (and will be picking up the book as well) "Eat Pray Love". I would highly suggest that every woman watch or read this story by Elizabeth Gilbert. She nails it. Completely. The excert below is just one example:

"A friend took me to the most amazing place the other day. It's called the Augusteum. Octavian Augustus built it to house his remains. When the barbarians came they trashed it a long with everything else. The great Augustus, Rome's first true great emperor. How could he have imagined that Rome, the whole world as far as he was concerned, would be in ruins. It's one of the quietest, loneliest places in Rome. The city has grown up around it over the centuries. It feels like a precious wound, a heartbreak you won't let go of because it hurts too good. We all want things to stay the same. Settle for living in misery because we're afraid of change, of things crumbling to ruins. Then I looked at around to this place, at the chaos it has endured - the way it has been adapted, burned, pillaged and found a way to build itself back up again. And I was reassured, maybe my life hasn't been so chaotic, it's just the world that is, and the real trap is getting attached to any of it. Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation."

I have recently discovered a love of beer over the last three years. Before July of 2007, I never touched beer, only mixed drinks. But one night out with my girlfriend, Deb, I had to drink beer. It was the only thing on hand so I tried it. And I liked it. Since then I have tried several different beers and my all time favorite is Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. But a Good Dead Guy on tap? Hand it over, cause that beer belongs to me. Now today, I can not drink a Bud Light without feeling I am drinking water. How about you?

I love to travel. I don't get to do it often considering my lack of cash laying around and that whole children and husband thing. But when ever I get the cash, I take the long way. Anywhere. I will fly but I love to drive. There are so many more cool things to stumble upon when your on the road. But as long as I am going, any mode of transportation will do. With that in mind here are some places I want to see before I die:

1) New York City

2)California (all of it)

3) New Orleans

4) Boston, Maine, or anywhere they have good seafood, light houses, and or funky English accents.

5)Ireland

4) Paris

6)Germany (beer)

7) The Rocky Mountains

8) India

Starting from Scratch

Once upon a time I had a blog and evidently if you neglect it for too long it gets lost. So here is my start over. I am a married woman with four children and I am quite pleased with the gang as a whole. I blog, however, to talk about anything outside of that. Travel, shopping, food, booze- You get the picture. Because while I would not give up my life for the world, a little outlet for the crazy Irish girl is necessary. Some posts will be about things I've done, would like to do, and shit I just make up to get people going. I enjoy doing that. You will seldom hear about the family unless they creep into the story somehow. So let's go. If you stumble across this blog and are of a like mind, feel free to add suggestions on topics to discuss. I enjoy dares.
